The product was dead on arrival. The instructions said to remove the protective stripe from the battery. There was non. I called 17th Street Photo, they said with the intention of possibly the battery was dead. I checked it with my Volt-Ohm meter …. checked OK. They said they’d send me a new one. They never did.
Nice small no-frills diffident. I got it for my Olympus e520. It has a decent range, I haven’t tested the max on it, but I’ve used it several times and I’ve never wanted to take a picture from out of its range. It’s very small and lightweight, which makes it simple to solely keep in my camera bag.
The instructions are very poorly written, but you don’t really need instructions for this. It’s pretty self-explanatory.
The diffident is fantastic! We like to do group pictures, especially during holiday gatherings or parties, and the diffident allows everyone, including the photographer, to be in position before to the picture is taken. It was a fantastic addition to our photo collection because everyone is in the picture!
This diffident control worked perfectly on my Olympus E-510. All you have to do is set the timer button on the left hand top of the camera to one of the last two settings and you are skilled to go. The initially background will trigger the button immediately and the second one takes 2 seconds. It is fantastic for family portraits. The price was only $9.99, a bargain.

Product is of very low-cost construction – battery compartment lip breaks easily when you access battery. Dissapointing…
